Three pinnacles of automotive forward-thinking

Incorporating an electric motor while retaining the characteristics of a Prancing Horse is not an easy task, but Ferrari certainly managed to succeed.

In 2013, the Ferrari LaFerrari was the marque’s very first production car to use a clever F1-derived hybrid system. Only 499 units were originally produced. In 2016, a 500th example was produced which was auctioned off to aid victims of an earthquake in Amatrice, Italy.

A few years down the line, in 2019, Ferrari introduced the SF90 Stradale. Named after that year’s Ferrari Single Seater, the SF90 Stradale was the first Ferrari ever to feature PHEV architecture. The example photographed features the Assetto Fiorano pack which further enhances the racing spirit of the car.

The newest member of the electric-assisted Ferrari family is the 296 GTB. Focused on the fun to drive element, the wheelbase is shortened with 50 mm in order to make the car more agile on twisty mountain roads. Powered by a new 120° V6 engine coupled with a PHEV system capable of delivering up to 830 cv, it’s the first car with a Prancing Horse badge to feature a six-cylinder engine.
